DEWITT — Jearlin Clark

Eichler, 86, of DeWitt, passed away December 19, 2020. Jearlin was born in Seton Dump, Arkansas, on February 26, 1934, to the union of Samuel James and Ocie Mae Alford Clark. She was raised on a small farm in Forks LaGrue, just outside of Dewitt, Ark. Jearlin married Neil C. Eichler on December 18, 1950, and raised their seven children in Stuttgart, Ark. Upon their retirements, they moved back to her old home place in Dewitt, where they remained until their deaths.

Jearlin was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel James and Ocie Mae (Alford) Clark, husband ,Neil Eichler, sisters, Bonnie Freeman and Esther Mae Starks, son, Scott Eichler, daughter Vanessa, Daughter-inLaw Kelly Martin Eichler, Brothers-in-Law Wayne Wessel and Roland Eichler, a special friend Hilda Martin, and other loved ones.

Mama loved Jesus and instilled that same faith in her children, often walking them to North Maple Baptist Church in Stuttgart. She made a solemn vow to the Lord that no one would ever leave her home hungry. She maintained this vow but prayed there would be no stoves in heaven. She always greeted loved ones with a warm hug, a generous meal, and a story to crack a smile. She was witty and an avid story teller. She loved to share stories of the “good ole days.” Mama was a collector of things old and new. She and her two sisters would get together on “sister-day” to eat out and go junking together. They bought herbs, various plants for their gardens, and knick-knacks. Our homes are full of these treasures for if she knew you were collecting certain things, she went out of her way to find them for you. To her children, she was Mama; to her grandchildren, she was Granny. She made it her business to know what was going on in everyone’s lives. We are blessed to have had you in our lives and are gifted with the same big heart. You are greatly missed. We love you.

Left to cherish her memory are sister-in-law, Barbara Wessels, five surviving children, Susan Garrett, Russel Eichler, Joel Eichler and his wife Shelly, Dale Eichler and his wife Kathy, and Richard Eichler, 19 grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren, plus too many nieces, nephews, friends and other family members to list.
