CONNIE CLYDINE BLACKWELL SIFFORD,

86, of Sherwood passed away Saturday, December 19, 2020. She was born May 18, 1934 in Leonard, Texas to the late Ozie and Buna Allie Monroe Blackwell.

She graduated high school from Leonard High School, in Fannin County, Texas, and went on to continue her studies in California.

She is proceeded in death by her late husband of 68 years, Basil Garrison Sifford. Together they had four children, Deborah Kay Sifford, Connie Geneva Sifford, James William and wife Tammie Sifford all of North Little Rock; and Laura Ann and husband Brian J. Gehrki of Hot Springs; grandchild­ren, Jason Blue Brown, Ashley Brown-Weaver and husband Johnny, Amanda Sifford Hughes and husband David, Hollie Renee Sifford and Madeline Elizabeth Gehrki; great-grandchild­ren, Emily Weaver, Haley Hughes and Bryson Hughes; sister, Nelda Dean Blackwell Hickman and her beloved Aunt Duell Mae Monroe Cathey.

Growing up she enjoyed traveling across the country with her family on the now historic Katy railroad. Later, after marrying her husband, who served as a Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force, she delighted in living in numerous communitie­s across the United States and Canada. She especially treasured their time in Bakersfiel­d, California and Newfoundla­nd, Canada. She was a member of Sylvan Hills United Methodist Church in Sherwood, was an avid gardener, and enjoyed volunteeri­ng in many community organizati­ons. Her lasting legacy of love, leadership and devotion to family and friends will live on in those whom she dearly loved.

Pallbearer­s are James William Sifford, Jason Blue Brown, Mark P. Brown, Brian J. Gehrki, Johnny Weaver and David Hughes.

A special thank you to her Lakewood Nursing and Rehab family. She adored all whom so lovingly cared for her while she made Lakewood her home for the past two years.
