CABOT — Louis Nelson Kuualoha Oana

70, of Cabot, passed away December 29, 2020. He was born February 25, 1950, in Honolulu, Hawaii, to the late George and Margaret Rego Oana. Mr. Oana was a music promoter with his own record label and publishing company. He was a musician, DJ, singer, tour guide, avid fisherman, loved camping and knew no strangers. Louie was an animal lover and was in tune with nature. He lived in Spain, where he acted in spaghetti westerns, graduated from Madrid High School and made many, many friends traveling throughout Europe during that time. He was an SP4 in the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. Louie still served in the Honor Guard through the VFW. He was known by his friends as having a warm heart, a giving smile and being a friend to all. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bill Oana.

Survivors include his wife, Rosalinda (Rose) Mesa; seven children, Leonard Mesa, Leilani Ulu, James Oana, Kaneala Oana, Priscilla Oana, Nelson Oana and Colby Rohan; twenty-two grandchild­ren; five great-grandchild­ren and five siblings, Tulane Sanchez, Brooks Oana, Arma Oana, Robina Subiono and Deena Hurwitz.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later date in Texas. The family suggests donations in memory of Louis Oana be made to the American Heart Associatio­n, PO Box 841125, Dallas, Texas, 75284-1125, or the American Diabetes Associatio­n, P O Box 7023, Merrifield, Va., 22116-7023.
