ROSENBERG, Texas — Mrs. Nelda Sue Coulter,
age 70, of Sherwood, Ark., passed suddenly on Sunday, January 17, 2021, in Richmond, Texas. She was born June 16, 1950 in Hochatown, Okla. She lived most of her adult life in Sherwood, Ark., before relocating in 2013 to Richmond, Texas to live near her beloved children and grandchildren. She was a graduate of DeQueen High School in 1968. She worked in the banking industry for the Federal Reserve Bank and BanCorpSouth for many years. She was a loving and selfless wife and mother. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed being outside among her flowers for many hours of the day. Her garden was always a place of peace and beauty for her family to enjoy. Her passion was spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mamie Clinton, one brother, Joseph Clinton, and sisters, Janelle Penner, Patsye Roberts, Marvena Shelley, and Inez Hudson. She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Howard Coulter, of Kermit, Texas, her son, Harrison Coulter, of Richmond, Texas, and her daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey and Elias Castellanos, of Sugar Land, Texas, two grandsons, Lucas and Ethan Castellanos, one brother, Charles Clinton of McKinleyville, Calif., and one sister, Bea Smith of DeQueen, Ark., and a number of nieces and nephews. She will be laid to rest in Redman Cemetery, DeQueen, Ark., in a private ceremony with close family. Memorials may be made to Child Advocates of Fort Bend in her memory.
