BATESVILLE — Winifred Rose (Bobbie) Evans of Batesville,

formerly of Sherwood, passed peacefully to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at the age of 98.

She was born June 18, 1922, in Washburn, Wis. Bobbie was the daughter of John Wesley and Mittie Rose Hensley. She married Delmar David Evans on April 15, 1939.

She was a production analyst for AT&T and a member of the Telephone Pioneers. “Grandma Bobbie” loved her family and her friends. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, sewing, and playing cards and dominoes with her “Tuesday Girls”. After the death of her beloved Delmar, she became a volunteer at the LRAFB Pharmacy and enjoyed many years of service there, being named LRAFB Volunteer of the year during her tenure.

Bobbie was a faithful member of the Sylvan Hills Church of Christ. She was also a longtime member of the Park Hill Widow Support Group and the NLR Home Extension Club. A past member of the North Little Rock Women’s City Club, she was the consummate hostess. She loved to decorate her home for the Christmas Holidays and entertain friends and groups from the church and the Air Force Base.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her three brothers and five sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Kay Evans Brogdon (Ronnie) of Batesville; grandchild­ren, David Brogdon (Wendy) of Little Rock, Mary-Katherine Hardin (Chris) of Batesville, Jay Brogdon (Erin) of North Little Rock; nine great-grandchild­ren; and two great-great grandchild­ren. Also surviving is a very special nephew, Bill Wade (Pat) of Cherokee Village; and a very special niece, Evelyn Evans of Benton; along with a dear and valued friend, Mr. Doug Bennett of Batesville; and numerous extended family members and friends.

The family is most appreciati­ve of the staff at the Eagle Mountain Assisted Living facility in Batesville. The love and care they provided was exemplary. Bobbie was a resident there for three years and was a true social diva!

Due to COVID restrictio­ns, a memorial service will be held at a later date. A private graveside service to honor Bobbie was held at 10 a.m. Monday, January 18, at Pinecrest Memorial Park, 7401 Highway 5 North, Alexander, Ark. (between Little Rock and Bryant). In lieu of flowers, the family encourages memorial donations to Eagle Mountain Assisted Living, 302 Woodmont Circle, Batesville, Ark. 72501.
