SUN BELT MEN LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE 77, ARKANSAS STATE 74

Arkansas State University (5-8, 2-4 Sun Belt Conference) was swept by Louisiana-Lafayette (11-4, 5-3) at the Cajundome in Lafayette, La.

The Red Wolves trailed 55-35 with 15:04 left to play, but cut the lead to 74-72 with 1:15 remaining thanks to an 11-1 run. But that was as close as ASU would get.

Norchad Omier led ASU with 15 points and 13 rebounds. Christian Willis had 15 points and Malcolm Farrington added 10 points. Marquis Eaton chipped in with 10 points and seven assists.

Cedric Russell and Jacobi Gordon each scored 14 points to lead the Ragin’ Cajuns.

TEXAS-ARLINGTON 66, UALR 61

Jordan Phillips recorded 16 points and 10 rebounds to lead Texas-Arlington (8-8, 4-4 Sun Belt Conference) past the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (8-7, 4-4) at College Park Center in Arlington, Texas

Sam Griffin had 17 points for Texas-Arlington. Shahada Wells added 11 points. Kaodirichi Akobundu-Ehiogu had eight rebounds and four blocks.

Markquis Nowell had 19 points for the Trojans. Nikola Maric added 13 points and eight rebounds. Ruot Monyyong had 9 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks.

The Mavericks registered their first victory in four tries against the Trojans this season. UALR defeated Texas-Arlington 66-59 on Friday.

SUN BELT WOMEN LOUISIANA-LAFAYETTE 70, ARKANSAS STATE 58

Louisiana-Lafayette (4-5, 3-1 Sun Belt Conference) outscored Arkansas State University (9-3, 4-2) 18-7 in the fourth quarter to earn a victory at First National Bank Arena in Jonesboro.

A free throw by Peyton Martin and a layup by Morgan Wallace gave ASU its first lead of the game, 54-53, with 9:13 to play, but the Ragin’ Cajuns went on an 11-0 run to take a 63-54 advantage by the 2:27 mark.

Martin and Karolina Szydlowska each had 12 points to lead the Red Wolves. Wallace finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Trinitee Jackson also had 11 points for ASU.

Brandi Williams led the Ragin’ Cajuns with a game-high 18 points. Skyler Goodwin and Ty’Reona Doucet each added 14 points. Jomyra Mathis added 13 points and 10 rebounds.

SOUTHLAND MEN ABILENE CHRISTIAN 93, CENTRAL ARKANSAS 58

Kolton Kohl had 16 points as Abilene Christian (12-3, 4-1 Southland Conference) won its eighth consecutiv­e home game, rolling past Central Arkansas (311, 2-4) at Moody Coliseum in Abilene, Texas.

Logan McLaughlin had 12 points for Abilene Christian. Joe Pleasant added 11 points.

Abilene Christian posted a season-high 29 assists on 34 baskets.

Collin Cooper had 12 points for the Bears, whose losing streak stretched to four games. Khaleem Bennett added 11 points.

SOUTHLAND WOMEN ABILENE CHRISTIAN 60, CENTRAL ARKANSAS 58

Madi Miller made a layup with 0.8 seconds left to help Abilene Christian (10-3, 3-1 Southland Conference) defeat the University of Central Arkansas (310, 1-4) at Moody Coliseum in Abilene, Texas.

UCA led 56-52 with 1:46 left, but Abilene Christian scored the next five points to take a 57-56 lead. With nine seconds remaining, the Sugar Bears tied the game at 58-58 after Hannah Langhi hit two free throws. Langhi subbed in for Ayanna Trigg, who was fouled on the previous play and was unable to shoot the foul shots.

Lucy Ibeh led the Sugar Bears with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Tori Lasker scored 12 points and Terri Crawford added 10 points.

Alyssa Adams had a game-high 22 points for the Wildcats. Kamryn Mraz finished with 17 points, including four three-pointers.

SWAC MEN TEXAS SOUTHERN 66, ARK.-PINE BLUFF 57

Galen Alexander had 14 points and eight rebounds as Texas Southern (3-7, 1-2 Southweste­rn Athletic Conference) topped the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (3-11, 2-3) at H.O. Clemmons Arena in Pine Bluff.

Michael Weathers had 13 points for Texas Southern, which broke its fourgame losing streak. Yahuza Rasas added 10 points and nine rebounds. Jordan Gilliam had 10 points.

Joshuwan Johnson had 14 points for the Golden Lions. Shaun Doss Jr. added 13 points and eight rebounds. Markedric Bell had 10 points.
