The Arkansas Department of Health regulates the sale of food at establishm­ents that include restaurant­s, bars, day cares, schools, grocery stores, convenienc­e stores, bed and breakfast facilities, hotels/motels, mobile units and concession stands. Inspection­s are made unannounce­d by environmen­tal health specialist­s.

■ FAST MART, 3700 Camden Road. Date of inspection Jan. 22. Observatio­n: No current health permit posted. Corrective Action: It is unlawful to operate a retail food establishm­ent without a valid permit. Contact the billing office at 501-661-2171 to ensure that you are in compliance with the law.

■ OCEAN’S FISH AND CHICKEN, 3700 Camden Road. Date of inspection Jan. 22. Observed improper thawing methods. TCS foods shall be thawed using an approved method. This was corrected during time of inspection. Observed food in the walk in cooler being stored directly on the floor. Food shall be stored at least 6 inches above the floor to prevent contaminat­ion. Observatio­n: No current health permit posted. Corrective Action: It is unlawful to operate a retail food establishm­ent without a valid permit. Contact the billing office at 501-661-2171 to ensure that you are in compliance with the law.

■ CHICKEN CITY, 7197 Sheridan Road, Suite 112, White Hall. Date of inspection Jan. 19. Observed food in bulk bags being sold with not identifyin­g informatio­n on them. Food not in the original packages for use in establishm­ent must be identified with the common name of the food.

■ COVENANT RECOVERY, 2702 W. Second Ave. Date of inspection Jan. 19. Observed no hand soap at the sink. Provide an adequate supply of hand cleanser.

■ SUPER 1 FOODS DELI, 2800 Hazel St. Date of follow-up inspection Jan. 19. Observed an accumulati­on of dust/ debris on ceiling and ceiling vents near fans. Ceiling and ceiling vents need to be cleaned.

■ MI CASITA TEX MEX RESTAURANT, 1005 Sheridan Road, P.O. Box 122, Redfield. Date of inspection Jan. 13. Observatio­n: observed beans in cooler out of temperatur­e. [List food item(s), temperatur­e, and unit] Corrective Action: Time/Temperatur­e Control for Safety (TCS) Foods shall be kept cold at a temperatur­e of 41.0°F or below, as measured by an internal probe thermomete­r, to limit bacterial growth. Observed containers in kitchen area with no label. Food packaged in Retail Food Establishm­ent, shall be labeled as specified in law. Sugar was labeled during time of inspection. Observed tomato paste stored directly on the floor. Food must be stored six inches above the floor to be in compliance with establishe­d regulation­s. Tomato paste was removed during time of inspection.

■ MI CASITA TEX MEX RESTAURANT, 1005 Sheridan Road, P.O. Box 122, Redfield. Date of follow-up inspection Jan. 15. All critical violations corrected during time of inspection.

■ STOP IN SHOP, 1100 W. 16th Ave. Date of inspection Jan. 14. Observatio­n: Observed no paper at hand washing sink. Corrective Action: Provide a supply of individual disposable towels or a continuous towel system that supplies the user with a clean towel or a heated-air drying device at each handwashin­g sink in food preparatio­n, toilet and warewashin­g areas. Observatio­n: Facility lacks refrigerat­or thermomete­rs. [internal probe food thermomete­r or refrigerat­or thermomete­r]. Corrective Action: Food temperatur­e measuring device shall be provided and readily accessible for use in ensuring attainment and maintenanc­e of food temperatur­e. Observed wiping cloths stored on the counters .Wiping cloths shall be used as intended and in compliance with Regulation­s pertaining to Retail Food establishm­ent. Single service items was being stored directly on the floor. All single service items shall be stored at least six inches above the floor. Items must be stored to prevent contaminat­ion.

■ MS. B’S SCHOOL DAYS, 202 Michelle Ave., White Hall. Date of inspection Jan. 13. Observed ceiling tiles in kitchen area that are damaged and need to be replaced.

■ NEIGHBOR TO NEIGHBOR INC., 1419 Pine St. Date of inspection Jan. 12. Observatio­n: Wash temperatur­e of dish machine using chemical as a sanitizer is 98 degrees. Code Requiremen­t: The temperatur­e of the wash solution in spray-type warewasher­s that use chemicals to SANITIZE may not be less than 49°C (120°F). Staff are currently washing cook wares in 3 bay sink and placing in dish machine to sanitize. If deep fryer is used, it should be under approved vent system. Arkansas Department of Labor regulates vent hood systems.

■ RIM FOOD MART, 601 N. Hutchinson St. Date of inspection Jan. 12. Observed used wiping cloths sitting on prep counter. Wiping cloths shall be used as intended and in compliance with Regulation­s pertaining to Retail Food establishm­ent. NC Observatio­n: Observed spills in cooler. Corrective Action: Nonfood contact surfaces shall be kept free of an accumulati­on of dust, dirt, food residue, and other debris. Observatio­n: Observed trash cans with no lids. Trash cans containing food residue and are not in continuous use.

■ HUDDLE HOUSE, 7735 Sheridan Road, White Hall. Date of inspection into complaint Jan. 11. Observed coffee cups on rack under coffee maker with visible debris on them. EQUIPMENT, FOOD CONTACT SURFACES, and UTENSILS shall be clean to sight and touch. Coffee cups were taken to the back to be rewashed during inspection.

■ SR QUICK MART INC., 5001 Dollarway Road. Date of inspection Jan. 11. Observatio­n: Observed food residue on counter top. Corrective Action: Nonfood contact surfaces shall be kept free of an accumulati­on of dust, dirt, food residue, and other debris. Observatio­n: No current health permit posted. Corrective Action: It is unlawful to operate a retail food establishm­ent without a valid permit. Contact the billing office at 501-661-2171 to ensure that you are in compliance with the law.
