JASON “JG” CRAIG GALLEGLY,
42, died January 22, 2021, surrounded by his family. JG was born in McGhee, Ark., on July 3, 1978, and spent his formative years in Jonesboro and North Little Rock where he discovered a passion for soccer while playing with the YMCA. He graduated from North Little Rock High School in 1996 where he was a member of the soccer team. After receiving his bachelor’s degree at Hendrix, Jason began his career in Little Rock where he worked for companies such as Alltel/Verizon, Data-Path, and most recently Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield.
JG’s love of sports and his competitive nature led him to the Little Rock Kickball Association, where he met a special group of friends that became family. In this group was Ashley, the love of his life who would become his wife, and with whom he would start a family. JG’s biggest and best accomplishments in life were his twins, Connor and Sloane. They were his sun and his moon. To them he passed on his love of chips and gummy bears, and his sense of humor. Connor is the spitting image of his daddy (something that Jason never got tired of people telling him) and Sloane has her daddy’s athletic prowess and competitive nature. JG was the best hands-on daddy and could do no wrong in their eyes. He was known around their daycare for hiking in the infamous double stroller every day and was always glad to pitch in with the Sunshine Club (PTA) ladies whenever he was needed. He was the diaper changer extraordinaire, school drop off and pick up king, and designated swimming pool taker. He dreamed of one day coaching his kid’s soccer teams and enjoyed playing with the Arkansas Central Soccer Association in his free time. The void his absence leaves is immeasurable. JG was an avid sports fan and loved cheering on the Arkansas Razorbacks, ASU Red Wolves, New Orleans Saints, Atlanta Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, and Manchester United. JG never met a sport he wouldn’t watch.
JG is survived by his wife of almost eight years, Ashley; one son, Connor; one daughter, Sloane; mother, Genna (Shelton) Gallegly; father, John (Sandy) Gallegly; a sister, Lauren Adams; and his paternal grandmother, Louise Gallegly as well as a host of extended family and very close friends.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 29, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Ruebel Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Saturday, January 30, 2021, at 10 a.m., in the chapel at Ruebel Funeral Home followed by burial at Forrest Hills Cemetery.
