DAVID CONNEY CHAMNESS,

73, was born March 16, 1947, in El Paso, Texas. He grew up in Malvern, Ark. He passed away January 24, 2021, in Little Rock, Ark., after a brief illness. David was a graduate of Hendrix College. His mother Hattie Goodman Chamness predecease­d him. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Martha Clardy Chamness. He is also survived by his cousin, Norman H. Mason, Sugarland, Texas, nephews, Dr. Bryan Clardy, Ft. Smith, Michael Clardy, Benton, and niece, Meredith Clardy, Houston, Texas. He had many close friends who felt like family including Janice Dent and Roger McCoy. The dearest of these friends who became family are Kristyn Pearson (Robert) and their children, Preston and Hattie, all of Friendswoo­d, Texas.

David retired from the Arkansas Workers Compensati­on Commission in 2013 after 28 years. He was an avid gardener, boater, and photograph­er. He loved all animals. His greatest passion was traveling. He was especially talented in planning vacations. With his wife and loyal traveling companion, he traveled from Alaska to Zimbabwe, visiting 49 states and six continents. He has photograph­ed plants, polar bears, grizzly bear catching Salmon to ancient Greek and Roman ruins.
