resident MARGARET LOU GORDON STEINBECK, 91, of Tampa, Fla., passed away December 3, 2020. She was deeply loved by her family and friends.

Margie was born August 8, 1929 in Marianna, Ark. As a wife and mother of two, she worked in West Helena as secretary to Bernard Capes, M.D. for over 30 years. After moving to Sherwood, she work at Sir Loin’s Inn restaurant in North Little Rock. Margie enjoyed cooking for her friends and family, gardening, playing cards and most of all golfing, which she did as a member of Burns Park Women’s Golf Associatio­n.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Homer, to who she was married for over 62 years; her parents, John and Geneva Gordon; sister, Jane Ross; and brothers, John and Frank Gordon.

She is survived by sister, Merle Hill, Mt. Vernon, Wash.; son, Michael O. Steinbeck (Nelda), Navarre, Fla.; daughter, Jennie Steinbeck Johnson (Ross), Tampa, Fla.; six grandchild­ren, Leah Steinbeck McCracken, Christophe­r Steinbeck, Michael O. Steinbeck II, Rachel Johnson Geisler, Stuart Johnson and Candace Keenum Geuvarra; and nine great-grandchild­ren.

The family is grateful to caring staffs of St. Joseph’s Hospital North, Tampa, Advent Health Care Center South, Zephyrhill­s, Advent Health Hospital, Zephyrhill­s and Gulfside Hospice. A graveside celebratio­n of life will be held at a later date in West Helena, AR. The family requests memorials be made to a charity of choice.
