SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Rev. Ja’Nice Winston,

age 79, passed away January 15, at her home in San Diego from complications from COVID-19. She was the third child born to Curtis and Mattie Davis. She was a product of the Little Rock School District and the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She was a ordained Methodist minister, serving faithfully at her church Bethel Memorial AME. Her education career spanned over 40 years as a teacher and guidance counselor. She was a Gold member of Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.

She was preceded in death by her parents Curtis and Mattie Davis, oldest sister, Hortense Davis Murry, sister in law, Lora Davis and brother in laws, Ernest McDaniel and Coleman Lambert. She is survived by her wonderful step-daughter, Sandra Winston, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, siblings, Alice McDaniel, Hensley, Ark., Rev. Curtis Davis, Spring Valley, Calif., Edith Lambert, Little Rock, Ark., Imam Adib Shaheed (Waheedah) Little Rock, Mattison Davis (Velma), San Diego, Calif., Dr. Myrna Washington (Lee) Aurora, Colo., Michelle Higgins (Greg), Little Rock , Michael Davis, San Diego.
