DALLAS, Texas — Heaven called Sally H. Ridenour

home on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, in Dallas, Texas. Her parents, Charles Sr. and Sally Harrington, who predecease­d her, gave birth to Sally on May 1, 1943 in Helena, Arkansas. In addition to her parents, Sally was adored by her older brother, Charlie Harrington, who passed when Sally was in junior high school.Sally is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Ridenour and Rachel Ridenour of Dallas, Texas, and by her cousin, LeeAnn Hummelstei­n Sloan, of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Sally grew up in Helena, Ark., attended Central High School, and graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayettevil­le, Ark., where she was a Razorback beauty and a member of Chi Omega sorority. She and then husband, Garland Ridenour, moved back to Helena, Ark., to be near Sally’s parents, who were elderly at the time, and to raise their daughters in a small town.

She spent many hours cooking, sewing, and following her children throughout their sports and hobbies. Sally was a very active member of the United Methodist Church of Helena, Ark.. and she loved her friends, family, and her community. She moved to Little Rock, Ark., for several years and spent her last thirteen years in Dallas, Texas. with her daughters. Family and friends will miss Sally deeply as she had an amazing sense of humor and enjoyed helping others. She is with her Lord and is in perfect peace.

As per Sally’s wishes, no funeral or formal ceremony will take place and a family celebratio­n of life will be held in the future. In lieu of a ceremony, should anyone choose, Sally preferred a donation in her name to the United Methodist Church of Helena, Ark. (502 Porter St, Helena, Ark. 72342, 870-338-7418) or to the National Alzheimer’s Society (800-272-3900 or National Alzheimer’s Associatio­n Processing Center, PO Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090).
