Hold him to account
After four years of no accountability for Donald Trump, I was not too surprised to witness the atrocity at the Capitol. It seems Congress and the Justice Department allowed him to run roughshod over laws with no consequences. No wonder he thinks he can do whatever suits his egotistical needs. They need to have checks and balances no matter what party is in the White House.
Trump has been allowed to get away with things like meeting with Putin secretly, with no notes or records; no accountability for any part in Russian election interference; not releasing his tax returns (we don’t know what countries he has business associations with or who he owes money to); not enough scrutiny over possible personal use of campaign funds; separating children and families; lying to the public about covid-19; using unidentified federal police during Black Lives Matter protests (many innocents were harmed); and begging and threatening election officials to change election results. All the while our Congress and Justice Department remained silent.
Mr. Cotton, Mr. Boozman, Mr. Womack, where was your attention when these things were going on? I believe that you are culpable in what happened at our Capitol. You helped create this Trump who seems to have no thought of any boundaries on his words or actions, just like a petulant child with no limits. Why has Congress not held this president accountable? I call for your resignations for dereliction of duty.
