Pet of the week

- Fezz and friends can be adopted through CARE for Animals. More information is available at (501) 6032273 and careforanimals.org.

Fezz is the pet of the week. He is a little over 4 months old. Fezz is the last of his litter still left at CARE. His brother and sister were adopted out weeks ago, and for some reason he is left behind. Fezz is thriving in his foster home. He has been exposed to other cats, and dogs and seems to be a fan of the calmer dog and the adult cats. His favorite thing is to sit in the very top of his cat tree and nap, but he will lean over and greet you with a meow every time you walk by. The most important thing about Fezz is his love for people. If you are looking to gain a trusted companion, Fezz is your guy. He loves to lay next to you on the couch and the bed, where he gives you the loudest purrs you have ever heard. He can shake a room with his purrs. Fezz loves to be picked up and get belly scratches. He’s one of the coolest little guys around. Fezz is fully vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $100.

Canine Close-Up

Abby is 6 years old. A man took Abby in from a not-so-great living situation. While he was happy keeping Abby and was able to give her a loving home, the other animals in the home were not Abby’s biggest fans. Abby is easygoing, dog friendly and loves to be around her people. She loves to lay out in the yard and play with her stuffed toys. Her smile will light up your day. She is crate-trained and knows some basic commands. She will be a great addition to just about any family. Abby is fully vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Her adoption fee is $250. Abby is in the Paws in Prison program where she receives obedience training. She will graduate from Paws in Prison on April 2. The dogs in this program are trained under the AKC Canine Good Citizen standards and are specifically selected to be family and companion dogs. They spend 24 hours a day with their trainers. For that reason, they will do best in homes where they are primarily inside dogs and spend lots of time with their families. The adoptive family will receive her training journal. This journal documents her arrival from the shelter, daily training progress and interactions with the trainers.
