Meeting to focus on East Broadway

North Little Rock officials will host a community meeting next month for residents of the East Broadway area and Census Tract 28 to create committees to work on transforming the area.

The meeting is scheduled for March 11 in the Bank of the Ozarks conference room of the North Little Rock Chamber of Commerce at 100 Main St. Participants will discuss the East Broadway economic development study that will focus on population patterns, educational profiles, land use, retail demand, workforce availability and more.

“This study will be a road map to guide and direct the future development in this part of North Little Rock,” a news release on the city’s Facebook page stated. “This study will be similar to the one done for the Argenta area of NLR years ago.”

Drive-in taking its shows on the road

The North Little Rock Drive-In is going mobile this month, allowing patrons the ability to take the movie watching experience to their homes, work or parties.

James Snyder, the administrator of the North Little Rock Drive-In Movies Facebook group, said the organization was taking the movie-watching experience on the road and taking a break from public showings.

The mobile drive-in movie service includes a 40-foot screen.

Organizers will take the screen to any requested place for movies, sporting events, watch parties, live TV or video games. Viewers can use the organization’s FM radio transmitter or its portable sound system.

“We can set up anywhere you have a flat vertical surface up to 40’ wide,” a news release on the Facebook page stated.

Patrons can call or text (501) 681-7552 for information and pricing.
