The Arkansas Department of Health regulates the sale of food at establishm­ents that include restaurant­s, bars, day cares, schools, grocery stores, convenienc­e stores, bed and breakfast facilities, hotels/motels, mobile units and concession stands. Inspection­s are made unannounce­d by environmen­tal health specialist­s.

Recent reports include:

■ DOLLAR GENERAL, 5104 Dollarway Road. Date of inspection Feb. 9. Some ceiling tiles throughout the store and dry storage are visibly unclean and need to be cleaned. Some ceiling tiles are damaged or are missing and need to be replaced.

■ DOLLAR GENERAL, 4109 U.S. 65 South. Date of inspection Feb. 8. Ceiling in dry storage is unclean and needs to be cleaned. Walls in dry storage are damaged and need to be repaired.

■ HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS, 2903 Pines Mall Drive. Date of inspection Feb. 8. Observed wiping cloths laying (on) the counter top. Wiping cloths shall be used as intended and in compliance with Regulation­s pertaining to Retail Food establishm­ent.

■ TACKETTS CATERING - PLATES AND MORE, 1010 W. Pleasant Drive. Date of inspection Feb. 8. Water faucet handle on hand washing sink came off during inspection. Handle should be replaced.
