passed away peacefully on February 22, 2021. Dan was born in Little Rock, Ark., to the late Daniel and Loleta Hamby. He graduated from Little Rock Central High School and attended the University of Arkansas as a member of Sigma Chi, where he met the love of his life, Magnolia.

After they wed, they traveled to Texas, Massachusetts and Virginia, starting their family of three, Maggie, Banks, and Scott. Drafted by the United States Army, 5th Infantry Division, Dan was stationed in Germany during the Korean Conflict.

In 1970, they returned to Hot Springs to start Sigma Supply in the back room of his father in law’s business, Public Drugstore, on Park Avenue. Sigma Supply grew into a national business spanning 15 locations across the United States. Even after retirement, Dan could be found at Sigma Supply daily and also enjoyed hunting and watching his beloved Arkansas Razorbacks.

He is predeceased by his parents, loving wife of 58 years, Martha Magnolia Hamby; and daughter-in-law, Andrea LaPaglia Hamby. Dan is survived by his three children, Magnolia Juanita Hamby, Daniel Banks Hamby III, and Scott Edward Hamby; grandchildren, Megan Johnson, Dillon Johnson, Melissa Hamby and Maddy Hamby; and his faithful canine companion, Misty Blue.
