LONOKE — Joseph Neal Anderson,

100, of Lonoke passed away on March 5, 2021. He was born on September 11, 1920 to the late Eva Ried and Benjamin Franklin Anderson in Juno, Tenn. Over the 100 years of his life, he has definitely seen so many things, good and bad. From the Great Depression to serving in the army, stationed in the Philippine­s during WWII, to the terrorist attack on his birthday in 2001. Not to mention all the technologi­cal advancemen­ts that has tied the world together.

He loved fishing, hunting, gardening and spending time with family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 55 years Lillian Mae Gatlin Anderson and all five of his siblings. He is survived by his children, Ronnie (Peggy) Anderson of Lonoke, Mike (Elaine) Anderson of Lonoke, and Barbara Wolcott of Franklin, Tenn.; grandchild­ren Tammy Wolcott of Nashville, Tenn., Shannon (Mark) Farrington of Nashville, Tenn., Stuart (Mitzy) of Primm Springs, Tenn., Tracey (Scott) Hill of Cabot, April Anderson of Lonoke, Paige Anderson of Lonoke, and Hayley (Taylor) Elder of Bentonvill­e, Ark.; and 13 great-grandchild­ren and a host of nieces and nephews.

The last 20 years of his life he was fortunate enough to find a wonderful companion and caregiver, Marilyn Cox, who shared his hobbies and interests. Her dedication to him was tremendous.

There will be a private graveside service Monday, March 8, 2921 at 1 p.m., at Lonoke Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lonoke First United Methodist Church 220 S. Center St; Lonoke, Ark., 72086
