EULESS, Texas — Andre James Hampton
was born on February 14, 1960, in Little Rock, Ark., to Barbara Jean James Hampton and Andrew James “Skid” Hampton. He passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, in Euless, Texas, at the age of 61.
Andre attended DeVry University where he graduated with a B.S. in Electronics Engineering Technology. He later went on to receive his MBA in Engineering and Business Management from the University of Dallas. He spent the majority of his career as an Engineering and Operations Director at Lockheed Martin where he worked for over 25 years. Throughout his career, he remained committed to creating opportunities for young professionals through mentorship, advocacy, and volunteering.
On June 11, 1983, Andre married Lorna Newman Hampton and they welcomed three daughters into their marriage — Crystal, Amber and Jada. He was an active father who supported his daughters in everything they pursued. He truly enjoyed being a grandfather and hanging out with “the grandbabies” — they brought so much joy to the last few years of his life.
He leaves behind a family who will miss him dearly: wife, Lorna Newman Hampton; children, Crystal Drumgoole (Kelland), Amber Greene (Isaiah), Jada Hampton; grandchildren, Aliyah Drumgoole, Naila Drumgoole, Evelyn Greene; siblings, Cherlyn Cleveland, Gregory Hampton, Phyllis Drone (Eugene), Cedric Hampton, Tena Hampton, Vickie Moore (Roy); a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He joins in Heaven his mother and father, Barbara Jean James Hampton and Andrew James “Skid” Hampton.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021, at Gregory W. Spencer Funeral Directors from 4:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021.
