MARION — R. Lee McQueen, Jr.

went to be with his Lord on March 14, 2021, at his home in Marion, Ark. He was born in Little Rock to Evelyn Allen and Ralph Lee McQueen, Sr., on December 12, 1947, but soon moved to Dermott, Ark. He is survived by his wife, Carol Rich McQueen; one son, Ralph Lee McQueen III (Kelly); one sister, Lynn McQueen Curtis; four stepsons, Rob Cosgrove (Debra), Rich Cosgrove (Nancy), David Cosgrove (Rene), and Jim Cosgrove (Paula); 12 grandchild­ren; and two great-grandchild­ren.

In preparatio­n for his career as a financial consultant he obtained an accounting degree from Hendrix College and did graduate work at the University of Arkansas. Lee was active in the community where he was president of the Rotary Club of West Memphis and a Paul Harris Fellow. Being an Eagle Scout, he started a Boy Scout troop at First Presbyteri­an Church West Memphis where he was a Sunday School teacher, a deacon, an elder, and served as church treasurer. He was very proud of his stint in the Navy, separating as a Petty Officer Second Class. His concern for others and warm personalit­y was a joy and comfort to his family and many friends. The family wishes to thank the wonderful health care providers of Dierksen Hospice for their care and support.

Visitation will be at First Presbyteri­an Church West Memphis, Ark., at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2021, with funeral service immediatel­y following at 11 a.m. Graveside service will be held in the Dermott City Cemetery in Dermott, Ark., at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 18.
