Dr. MICHAEL (MIKE) LYNN TALBERT

-

went to be with Jesus on Friday, March 26, 2021, after a short battle with an aggressive cancer. He was born June 13, 1959 in Baton Rouge, La. After graduating from Jonesboro High School and then ASU, he went to medical school at UAMS. Afterwards, he completed his radiation oncology residency at M.D. Anderson and began his practice in Little Rock, Ark. - as a partner of ROAPA, serving at CARTI.

Mike’s skill in radiation oncology earned him numerous awards over his 30+ years at CARTI – saving thousands of lives. But it was his love for his patients that made him a legend, cultivating a culture of warmth and care in the workplace. And his adoration for his family was contagious to everyone. Co-workers knew every story and picture. It is easy to be celebrated at work, but to be celebrated at work and home is a rare thing, indeed.

He loved to travel with his family, golf with his brother and friends, and be the best “Gramps” of all time to his three grandsons. He watched the movie Pele on repeat, blasted Adele from his phone in his pocket, and gave the most clever gifts at Christmas.

Mike died at the age of 61. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Tina; his son, Justin; his daughter, Nina; his grandsons, Soren, Aksel, Isen; his parents, Lonnie and Lavern; and his brother, Gary.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 1, at 12 p.m. at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home (13801 Chenal Pkwy, Little Rock, Ark. 72211), followed by a time for visiting with the family. Online guestbook: www.rollerfuneralhome.com/chenal.
