FAYETTEVIL­LE — Rick Ellis,

67, of Fayettevil­le, Ark., and formerly of Blythevill­e, passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Rick was born in Blythevill­e to Melvis and Sue Langley Ellis and was of the Baptist faith. He served his country with honor in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany for some of his time in the military. He was the owner of Ellis Processing and Materials Handling of Memphis, Tenn., and Armorel, Ark. Rick understood the value of hard work, and he loved and appreciate­d every one of his employees. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed traveling with his wife Dianna. Rick was an avid Razorback fan. He watched every sport that the Razorbacks played and called the Hogs every Saturday. Rick enjoyed golfing and loved his dog, Tug. He enjoyed being outside working in his yard and was very passionate about his landscapin­g and how beautiful it looked after he was finished. Rick was a family man and loved spending time with them, especially his grandchild­ren. He was a very generous and giving man, with a big heart that never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and his best friend, David Stone.

Rick leaves his wife, Dianna Pike Ellis, of the home; three children, Jessica Swafford of Bryant, Ark., Matt Ellis and his wife, Samantha, of Marion, Ark., and Hayden Ellis of Fayettevil­le, Ark.; one brother, Lamar Ellis and his wife, Pat, of Blythevill­e; and four grandchild­ren, Raleigh Lynn, Rory Mae “Toots”, Lukus, and Jaxson.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 17th at 10 a.m. in the Cobb Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Hyde officiatin­g. Entombment will follow in Dogwood Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 4:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Cobb Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the Mississipp­i County Senior Citizens Center, 1101 David Lane, Blythevill­e, Ark. 72315 or to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital Foundation, P.O.
