LITTLE ROCK — Many Arkansans know Dawn Scott as a familiar face on THV11, where she was the primary TV news anchor for 21 years. Scott’s career path took a new direction in September 2020, when she earned her Realtor license, and she is now part of the team at The Janet Jones Co.

“The pandemic showed me what I was missing with my children when I left every day,” she said. “I absolutely loved sharing information and being a voice for those who need it most, especially Arkansas children in foster care looking for forever homes and families, but in the process of doing so, my own children were missing their mom.”

Scott, who was already managing rental properties at the time, said she has been interested in real estate since childhood, when her grandfather worked as a real estate broker. She added that she thrives when she helps other people achieve their dreams.

“Being in real estate is like being a part of people’s families for a short time,” she said. “There is a depth and vulnerability that I don’t take for granted. I am so thankful to those who’ve trusted me with their most important business — the business of home.”

She added that The Janet Jones Co. is a natural fit for her because of the company’s staff and its commitment to service and professionalism. “Being under the umbrella of our legendary service is what drew me to The Janet Jones Co.,” she said. “Our philosophy of the Golden Rule is also a wonderful foundation from which we work. I wanted to provide the absolute best service, so I wanted to work with a company with that reputation.”

Scott is pursuing her Graduate Realtor Institute and Certified Residential Specialist designations. In addition to being affiliated with the Little Rock Realtors Association, the Arkansas Realtors Association and the National Association of Realtors, Scott is a board member for Women and Children First, the Centers for Youth and Families Foundation and United Cerebral Palsy.
