DERMOTT — Elvin Lee Hudspeth, Sr.,

69, of Dermott, Ark., passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021. He was born on May 9, 1951, in Drew County, Ark., to Reverend Tommie Lee and Margie Lee McCullough Hudspeth. He graduated from Dermott High School in 1971. He furthered his education by attending a technician training program and becoming a certified master mechanic.

Survivors are sons; Marcus Moore, Erick Hudspeth, Charles (Bonita) Allen, and Elvin (Juanita) Hudspeth, Jr.; daughters; Renita Hudspeth, Vanessa Hudspeth, Arrissa (Jarron) Clark, Vijayarane Hudspeth, Chikiki Hill, and Sonja Davis; four sisters, Sharon Connors of Warner Robins, Georgia; Beatrice (Jesse) Harvest, of McGehee, Ark.; Debora Hudspeth of Pine Bluff, Ark.; Ruthie Hudspeth of Sherwood, Ark.; two uncles, Anthony (Phoebe) Hudspeth of Kansas City, Mo., and James Binns, Sr. of Little Rock, Ark.; one aunt, Betty Davis, of Dermott, Ark.; two nieces, Dr. Shahnjayla Connors of Houston, Texas and Richaundra Randle of Nashville, Tennessee; one brother-in-law, Larry West, Sr. of Dermott, Ark.; grandchild­ren; a great-grandchild; and many cousins and friends.

Walk-through visitation will be Friday, April 23, 2021, from 12-5 p.m. at Davis-Strickland Funeral Home of Dermott, Ark. Funeral service will be at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Dermott, Ark., with Reverend William Freeman, Jr, officiatin­g. Interment will follow in Strickland Memorial Lawn, McGehee, Ark., by Davis-Strickland Funeral Home, Dermott, Ark. Face coverings and social distancing must be strictly enforced, and there will be a limit on the number of people that can attend the service.
