BENTON — Sylvia Cain Caple,

97, of Benton, Ark., born April 3, 1924, to William I. and Mamie Cain of Lonsdale, Ark., died Monday, April 26, 2021, at Innisfree Health and Rehabilita­tion in Rogers, Ark.

She graduated from Benton High School in 1940, where she was cheerleade­r for four years and Homecoming Queen as a senior.

Sylvia worked for Cities Services Oil in the early 1950s in the accounting department. She later worked for Treadway Electric Company’s bid department in Little Rock. Following her tenure there, she was a founding partner of Jim Venable & Associates, a manufactur­er’s representa­tive in the constructi­on industry, until her retirement.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Frank de Jalma Caple; her sisters, Phyllis Ann Green and Sybol Audrey Carter; parents, William I. Cain and Mamie Gertrude Cain; sonin-law, James Earl Thompson; and grandson, James F. “Jimmy T” Thompson.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Thompson of Rogers, Ark., and Debbie Johnson of Dallas, Texas; three grandchild­ren, Janelle Montz, Lisa Webb, and Stephen Johnson; and numerous great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, May 1 at 11 a.m. at Roller-Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Road in Benton (501-3150700). Visitation will be held Friday, April 30, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Roller-Alcoa.

Masks are encouraged due to the high-risk category of many of our guests.
