LONOKE — John May, Jr (Jay)

was born November 27, 1993, departed this life May 1, 2021. He was born to John and Dedra May in Little Rock, Ark.

Jay accepted Christ at an early age. He attended First Baptist Church Roland where he served on the junior usher board. He later moved his membership with his parents to St. Luke Baptist Church, North Little Rock, where he served on the Junior Usher Board as well.

Jay’s loving heart, funny character and generous spirit made him an inspiratio­n to his family and friends. He never met a stranger, and was always uplifting and encouragin­g to everyone he met. Jay was a hard and dedicated worker no matter what challenges he faced. He had a love for cooking, hiking, and exploring museums.

He loved his military (Air Force Reserve) and work (Centene) family until his health failed. He loved spending time with his extended family, Lavonda Smith (mama), Morgan Starks, and his very special friend who he met in the military, Amanda Guerra.

He leaves to cherish his memory: spouse, Skyler May; sister, Brooklynn May; brother, Justin May; his loving grandmothe­rs, Mattie May of Canton Miss., Verlon Moore of Roland; four aunts, Deborah Piggee, Conway, Delma Moore, Roland, and Lisa (Tim) Johnson of Canton, Miss.; three uncles, Donald Brown, Dennis (Luveta) Moore, Conway, Dwayne (Tyisha) Moore, Little Rock; eight great-uncles; 11 great-aunts; a host of cousins and friends.
