Earnestine Davis Howell

Mrs. Earnestine Davis Howell, was born December 7, 1934, in Osceola, Ark., to the late Elnora Lee and Paul Wesley Davis. She was raised by grandmothe­r, Emma Weatherspo­on Jackson. She was reared by her aunt, Isabelle and Uncle Willie Taylor. Earnestine was united in holy matrimony to James Howell Jr., on October 14, 1950, to this union six children were born. Earnestine confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Main Street Church of God and Christ, in Pine Bluff, Ark. She later united with the Saint Bethel Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Ark., where she remained a faithful member until her health failed. She was a Retired Certified Nurse Assistance (CNA) at Jefferson County Convalesce­nt Home.

She leaves to cherish: her husband, James Howell Jr., three sons: James (Lorenza) Howell, Osceola, Ark., Carl (Mona) Howell, Hobart, Ind., Jerry Howell, Pine Bluff, AR; three daughters: JoAnn Howell-Sims and Sandra (Isaiah) Jackson, Pine Bluff, AR, Jacqueline (Earl) Young, LaGrange, AR. She leaves ten grandchild­ren, 18 great-grands, sister, Mae Lee (Richard) Harbor, Kansas City, Kansas.

Due to Covid 19, services will not be open to the public. However, a public walk-through will be held at Brown Funeral Home, Pine Bluff, Ark., on Friday, August 27, 2021, from 4:30–5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, August 28, 2021, at St. Bethel Baptist Church, Pine Bluff, Ark., with Reverend Louis E. Williams, Jr. officiatin­g. Services are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff, Ark.
