BATESVILLE — Shirley Ann Dowell Cuzzort,

of Batesville, passed away on August 24, 2021, at her beloved home, surrounded by her family. Shirley was born on January 19, 1942, to Nettie Marie Brooks and Earl Dennison Dowell in Batesville, Arkansas. After graduating high school in 1959, she attended beauty school and styled hair for nearly 60 years. She loved cutting hair so much, she even had a beauty shop in her own home. Her grandkids loved to play in her beauty shop, spin in her stylist chair, and wash their hair in her sink. Shirley was married to the love of her life, Robert Cuzzort for 60 years. They both enjoyed sitting on their back porch together and watching the wildlife; including the birds, deer, and the family of foxes that came to visit nearly every day. She loved to cook, collect antiques, re-finish furniture, travel, fish, and play bunco with her friends. Above all, Shirley enjoyed laughing and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Earl Wayne Dowell. She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughters, Sabrina Reagan (Michael) of Germantown, Tenn., and Kristen Taylor of Batesville, Ark.; son, John Cuzzort (Mamie) of Batesville, Ark.; brother, Larry Brown (Gail) of Greenwood, Ark.; grandchild­ren, Chaney Allen Staggs (Rusty) of Spanish Fort, Ala., Jackson Allen of Greenwood, Ark., Morgan Taylor Etheridge (Ryan) of Batesville, Ark., Mollie Taylor of Batesville, Ark., London Cuzzort of Batesville, Ark., and Ayden Cuzzort of Batesville, Ark.

Funeral services will be Friday, August 27, 2021, at Ruddell Hill Baptist Church at 2 p.m., with Bob Dailey and Tyler Bramlett officiatin­g under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. At the family’s request, masks are required to enter the church. www.rollerfune­ralhomes.com/batesville.
