died peacefully on August 18, 2021, in his home. Bob was born January 29, 1926, to Earl and Catherine Miller in Corydon, Ind. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Joan, his parents, and brother, Thomas. He is survived by his four children, Helen McCune, Robert (Laura) Miller, Margaret (John) Dykstra, and Anne (Jeff) Simmermake­r; eight grandchild­ren, Brian (Leah) McCune, Maggie McCune (Alex) Berger, Katie Dykstra (Nick) Cecconi, Jack Dykstra, Joanie Simmermake­r (Brandon) Wells, Tom Simmermake­r, Ellen and Lucy Miller; five great-grandchild­ren, Riley, Reis, Collin, Hayley and Isla; and other extended family and friends.

He was raised in Corydon, Ind. Immediatel­y after high school he joined the U.S. Navy and served proudly in W.W.II. He returned to Indiana University where he was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. There he met his sweetheart, Joanie. He graduated from IU and went to work in sales for a predecesso­r of Mead Paper Corp. where he spent 33 years and retired as President of Mead Merchants. His career led him to Indianapol­is, Ind., Cincinnati, Ohio, Birmingham, Mich., Hinsdale, Illinois, and Kettering, Ohio. He and Joanie then moved on to Apopka, Fla., and finally Little Rock, Ark.

His strong Christian faith was a huge part of his upbringing and continued through life. He was devoted to his wife and children throughout his life. His tireless work ethic and mission to do the right thing was the basis of his success. As a result, a journey of transfers and moves created a family that grew up with love and faith. All four of his children were able to be with him in his last two months.
