MALVERN — Barbara Lou Loy,
82, went to her Heavenly home on August 19, 2021. She resided in Malvern, Ark., at the time of her passing. Barbara was born on December 11, 1938 in Pine Bluff, Ark., to Jack and Adell Wright. She grew up in Arkadelphia, Ark., and later Bismarck, Ark. On December 8, 1955, Barbara and the love of her life, Claudie Loy were married. They were married for 49 years.
Barbara was affectionally known by everyone she met as “Mamaw Bob.” She spent her life helping those around her. She was a hard worker and loved the Lord. She spent over 25 years working for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier. Upon retiring, Barbara enjoyed antiquing, gardening, and helping those in need. She never met a stranger anywhere she went, and was always willing to give a helping hand to anyone in need. She was also very active in her church.
Barbara was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Claudie; her son, Vince; her brother, Doug Wright; and one great-granddaughter, Whitley Loy.
She is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Cathy Wright of Arkadelphia, Ark., one son and daughter-in-law, Jackie and Bobbie Loy, of Bismarck, Ark.; four grandchildren, Josh and Chasity Loy, of Benton, Ark., Brad and Emily Loy of Bismarck, Ark., Cody and Carla Loy of Falcon, Colo., Nikki and Jeremy Godwin of Bismarck, Ark.; and nine great-grandchildren, Kynlee and Khloe Loy, Skylen and Evie Loy, Norah, Charli, and Ella Loy, and Alec and Brady Godwin.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Barbara Loy on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 11 a.m., at Crossroads Missionary Baptist Church in Benton, Ark., with Bro. Ricky Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hickory Grove Cemetery in Bismarck, Ark.
