95, of Hamburg, died Sunday, August 29, 2021, at the Ashley County Medical Center in Crossett. Mrs. Foote was a native of Lake Village and resident of Hamburg for most of her life.

After graduating from Hamburg High School, she attended the Baptist Nursing School in Little Rock and received her degree as a Registered Nurse. Following her servant’s heart, she became a lifelong caretaker and worked as a Floor Nurse/Surgical Nurse at the Ashley County Medical Center, formerly the Crossett Hospital, the Hamburg School District School Nurse, and a Home Health Nurse for the Arkansas Department of Health. True to her kind, generous, selfless nature, she always put others before herself and would often take care of many outside of her job. She was a faithful member of the Hamburg First United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was an active member of the United Methodist Women and the Rolfe Whitlow Sunday School Class. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bridge and was hostess in her home for many Farmer’s Bank parties and other social events. Known as Baba to many, she loved her family and was a devoted mother, grandmothe­r, and great-grandmothe­r.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Louie Gene Foote in 1996; a son, Henry Eugene Foote in 1974; her parents, J.C. and Eunice Griswold Higginboth­am; two sisters, Lorece Ozment Rainey and Billie Jean Bussell; a brother, Donald Higginboth­am; a sister-in-law, Muriel Bolls Suares and a special friend, Linda Harville.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Janes and husband Jerry of Hamburg; two brothers, Phillip Higginboth­am of Fayettevil­le and James Higginboth­am and wife Anita of Crossett; a granddaugh­ter, Nan Erwin and husband Keith of Hamburg; three grandsons, Kyle Barnett and wife Kamber of Yukon, Oklahoma, Jeremy Janes of Rogers and Carey Janes of Bella Vista; eight great-grandchild­ren, Reid Erwin and Evan Erwin both of Hamburg, Kolbie Barnett and Kylie Barnett both of Yukon, Oklahoma, Camille Janes and Claire Janes both of Texarkana, Morgan Janes and Murphy Janes both of Bella Vista and a sister-in-law, Myra Higginboth­am of Katy, Texas

Memorial services are 11 a.m., Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at the First United Methodist Church with Colten Stanberry, Bro. Josh Luellen, Rev. Toby Austin and Chad Higginboth­am officiatin­g. A private burial was held in the Hamburg Cemetery. Honorary pallbearer­s are Dillon Deason, Peyton Gwin, Joe Hennington, Jared Brooks, Trey Holland, Johnny Pierce, Josh Pierce, Jeff Foote, Joe Foote, William Foote, Drew Foote, Brad Shiver, Harry Shiver, Kyle Barnett and Reid Erwin.
