BENTONVILL­E — Jerald Franklin Norton, Jr.,

66, of Bentonvill­e passed away at home, August 31, 2021. He was born January 24, 1955, in Pine Bluff to the late Jerald Franklin Norton and Betty Campbell Norton. He graduated from Watson Chapel High School in Pine Bluff and from the University of Arkansas at Fayettevil­le.

He was a profession­al civil engineer and had worked for TriState Engineerin­g and Olsson in Joplin, Mo., for the past 25 years. He was a faithful member of 45 years with Sycamore Missionary Baptist Church in Fayettevil­le, serving as deacon, treasurer, music director, and youth worker. He also was serving as treasurer of the Fayettevil­le Baptist Associatio­n.

He was preceded in death by his uncles, Bill, Bob, and Mike Norton; and by his aunt, Carolyn Norton.

Survivors include his brother, Richard Earl Norton of Pine Bluf; and aunts, Marie Norton of Bridge City, Texas, and Melda Norton of Pine Bluff. He is also survived by a cousin, Donna Lotia of Fresno, Calif.

He was a very good son, brother and friend. He would do anything to help anyone.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 4, 2021, at Roselawn Memorial Gardens near Pine Bluff with Bro. Norman Ross officiatin­g. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to the service. A memorial service in Fayettevil­le will be scheduled at a later date.
