BILLY (BILL) EDWIN HERRING,

SR., 79, of North Little Rock, Ark., went to be with the Lord on August 27, 2021. He was born July 19, 1942, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Meldrum (Jim) Edwin Herring and Mary Lee Manning.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife of 58 years, Doris Ann Herring; his son, Russell Todd Herring; and his siblings, Jim Herring, Coris Padget, and Danny Herring.

He is survived by his son, Billy Herring, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Xin Chen; his two grandchild­ren, Isaac Medearis and Lilian Herring; and his brother Robert (Bob) Herring; as well his dear brother-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces.

Bill had been retired for many years from The Herring Group, a nationally recognized executive placement business he and Doris founded together. He also held vice-presidenti­al positions in Target Corporatio­n and Environmen­tal Systems Company. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served for four years, stationed most notably in Thule, Greenland. He attended the University of Houston on the G.I. Bill, graduating with honors.

An avid golfer, tennis player, hunter, and fisherman, Bill was a lifelong fan and supporter of the Arkansas Razorbacks as well as a generous donor to a variety of children’s and religious charities. He also played a pretty mean game of Shoot-the-Moon dominoes.

He was a loving and generous husband, father and friend and will be missed by all.
