BENTON — Jonathan “Jon” Robert Matson,

42, of Benton, passed away October 4, 2021. He was born June 16, 1979, in Hackettsto­wn, New Jersey. Jon was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend. Those who were lucky enough to know him describe him as one of the most selfless and unfailingl­y kind people around. He was ambitious, thoughtful, and witty, with the most infectious laugh. Above all else, he had the biggest heart. His love for his family and friends motivated everything he did in life.

At age 18, he started working for Arrow Plumbing. During his 24 years there, he worked his way all the way up to Vice President of the company, earning his Master Plumber license early in his career. Every moment of his career was done in the pursuit of providing a great life for his family. Jon loved sports and always held a spot in his heart for his home teams, the Giants and Yankees. However, there wasn’t a team that Jon loved more than the Razorbacks. He was a lifelong, avid fan.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 23 years and the love of his life, Amanda Matson; children: Dylan, Carson, and Mackenzie Matson; mother, Lois Palmer (Kevin); father, Steve Matson; mother-in-law, Pam Bruck; sisters: Amanda Yang (Jered), Katie Matson, and Ashlyn Johnson; brother, Aaron Johnson; grandmothe­r, Roberta Black; aunt, Doreen Carmean; nephew and niece, Oliver and Norah Yang; and numerous extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfathe­r, Robert Black; aunt, Linda Black; and brother-in-law, Ricky Bruck.

Visitation will be held, 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, October 8, 2021, at Pinecrest Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021. at Pinecrest Funeral Home. The family request guests wear their Razorback attire to the visitation and service in honor of Jon.
