VANCOUVER, Wash. — Charles Clarence Day,

born March 2, 1942, passed November 2, 2021.

Son of George and Odell Day of De Valls Bluff, Ark. Grew up in the Idlewild community. Attended High School at DVB until Junior year. Charles was a letterman in Basketball as well as Football and Table Tennis at DVB. Reported that during his High School athletic career he was NEVER on a football team that enjoyed a win.

Graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy in Lebanon, Tennessee in 1960.

Graduated from Arkansas Technical University in Russellvil­le, Ark., 1964 with Degrees in Political Science and History. Charles held the office of President of the Senior Class. He was appointed as a member of the Student Court by the College President. He as a member of Blue Key, a national honor society as well as being a member of Beta Club, and academic fraternity. While attending Arkansas Tech was married to Carole Laverne (Sue) Cunningham of Hazen, Ark., on June 10, 1962.

Charles and Carole resided primarily in Stuttgart. Charles continued operation of the family farm in Idlewild. Charles and Carole also owned and operated Carole Days Furniture in Stuttgart. They had two sons, Charles Roger Day of Winona, Miss., and Ronald Derek Day of Portland, Ore. Grandsons, Derek Day of Portland, Ore., and Justin Day of Eugene, Ore.

Boy Scouts of America: Charles became active in the BSA in 1964. Served on the State Quapaw Area Council. He enjoyed many outings with the Boy Scouts.

Charles went on to live in the Pacific Northwest since 1988 where he worked as a Manufactur­es Representa­tive in the Home Furnishing Industry. His territory included Oregon, Northern California, Washington and Idaho. He retired in 2014. January 17, 2015, Charles married Martha Marsh Day in Vancouver, Wash., where he happily lived out the remainder of his days.

A graveside memorial service will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 11 a.m., at Peppers Eddy Cemetery south of DeValls Bluff, Ark. All friends and family are invited to attend.
