United Way Turkey Trot
CONWAY — The United Way of Central Arkansas will host its seventh annual Turkey Trot 5K at 8:30 a.m and the Gobble Wobble Kids’ Mile, a 1-mile race open to children ages 10 and younger, at 8 a.m. on Thanksgiving. The live race will take place at the Centennial Valley Country Club, 1600 Centennial Club Drive. A virtual option is also available. Early-bird registration is open online through RunSignup and can be accessed by clicking the Turkey Trot button on the United Way’s homepage at www.uwcark.org. Registration, at $35 for the 5K and $25 for the Kids’ Mile, is available until the morning of the race.

Arkansas Governor’s School Applications
RUSSELLVILLE — Students who want to attend the 43rd Arkansas Governor’s School need to inquire with their school counselors about the nomination process. Arkansas Tech University will host the 43rd AGS on July 5 to Aug. 1. AGS serves approximately 400 selected students from around the state during the summer before their senior year in high school. Season’s Greetings Exhibit
CLINTON — The North Central Arkansas Artist League offers a Season’s Greetings exhibit at Ozark Health Medical Center, 2500 U.S. 65 S., in two hallway locations: upstairs near the nursing-home entrance and downstairs in the outpatient wing. The artworks, which are for sale, are by league members Ellen Kelly, Jane Gortney, Kathleen Hadley, Charlotte Rierson and Alecs Long, all of Fairfield Bay; Donna Buercklin of Greers Ferry; and Joyce Hartmann of Choctaw. The exhibit will be open to the public during business hours until mid-January. The Hospital Auxiliary receives a portion of each sale. Arkansas Master Naturalists Applications
The Foothills chapter of the Arkansas Master Naturalists is accepting applications. FAMN is an independent, all-volunteer organization that promotes the preservation, restoration and appreciation of the natural environment. Veterans Food Pantry
NORTH LITTLE ROCK — The Veterans Villages Helping Hand Program Food Pantry, 8325 MacArthur Drive,
serves all veterans, as well as active-duty, Guard and Reserve service members and their families, in Faulkner and Perry counties. The food pantry will be open from 8 a.m. to noon every other Wednesday, including Dec. 1 and 15. The Veterans Villages of America Program also helps with unemployment, health care and housing for veterans and service members. Food Pantry and Thrift Store
MORRILTON — The Conway County Care Center’s food pantry, at 108 W. Broadway, is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Residents of Conway County may visit the pantry once a month to take home free supplemental food, regardless of household income. The center also operates a thrift store, where clothes and household items are available at a low cost, or free when there is an immediate need. Cleburne County Cares Food Pantry
HEBER SPRINGS — The Cleburne County Cares Food Pantry, 2016 Arkansas 25 Bypass, is open from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Those who need food are asked to call ahead at (501) 362-8486 so the pantry can have the items ready for pickup.
Fairfield Bay Rotary Meetings
FAIRFIELD BAY — The Fairfield Bay Rotary meets at noon every Wednesday, with lunch at 11:30 a.m., in the Fireside Room at the Little Red Restaurant at Indian Hills, 337 Snead Drive. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and Arkansas Department of Health guidelines are followed.
UPCOMING Dardanelle Christmas Parade
DARDANELLE — The Dardanelle Christmas Parade will take place at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3, with a Dec. 10 rainout date. The parade will begin at Merritt Park on Arkansas 22, then turn north on Union Street and right on Front Street. The grand marshals will be Mark Thone and Kent Tallent, the Dardanelle Area Chamber of Commerce’s 2020 Citizens of the Year. Trophies will be given for first, second and third places in commercial and nonprofit categories.
