DAMASCUS — Timothy “Joe” Layton Rowlett,

77, of Damascus, Ark., died on November 19, 2021. He was born on October 5, 1944, to Timothy O and Inez Goff Rowlett. Joe and his wife, Mary, together ran a small farm called “Hard Times Farm”. He was a father to three children whom he loved and was so very proud of. Joe was a retired mechanic and wrecker operator as well as a member of Copperas Springs Baptist Church in Guy, Arkansas. He was also a proud member of the Masons for over 50 years.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers; Wayne D. and Glendon Smith Rowlett, one sister; Eloise Jeffcoat and a nephew, Duke Rowlett. Joe is survived by his wife; Mary, a son; Mark Rowlett (Shellie), daughters; Missy Snowden (Robbie) and Joely Costello. He also leaves four grandchild­ren and two great-grandchild­ren, a loving sister; Paulette Rowlett (Tommy), brother; Wade Rowlett and a special niece; Tracie Middleton (Lyle). He and Mary also had a very “special” boy named Owen Rowlett. Also left to cherish his memory are many other dear family members, neighbors and friends.

Mary wanted to “thank” Dr. James Fulmer, Dr. Ann Riggs, and Dr. Anum Syed for their loving care. She also wanted to “thank” Arkansas Hospice for their care and especially the nurses and aides at St. Vincent Hospital. Joe also had two ladies that were awesome in their care; Sue King and Donna Winfrey. Mary and Donna would often joke that, Mary was sister wife #1 and Donna was sister wife #2. They were such a blessing to Joe and Mary.

There will be a visitation for Joe at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Greenbrier, on November 24, 2021, at 10 a.m., immediatel­y followed by the funeral services with Pastor Gary Burdin officiatin­g. Interment will be at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
