CABOT — Jared Wayne Thompson,

63, of Cabot, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021. He was born March 22, 1958, in Batesville to Jane Jackson Thompson and the late Olan Thompson.

Mr. Thompson graduated from Ritenour High School in St. Louis and from UCA with his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He was a member of North Hills Baptist Church in Sherwood. Mr. Thompson worked for the Arkansas Department of Health as a Radiologic­al Health Physicist and retired after 33 years service. He was a past Chairman of the Conference of Radiation Control Program Directors and, in 2019, was named the CRCPD Man of The Year. Jared was a referee in the Arkansas Officials Associatio­n for 25 years. Even with his lengthy career and many accomplish­ments, Jared’s grandchild­ren were his greatest joy.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his wife, Judith Zimmerman; children, Zachary (Nicole) of Bossier City, La., Marshall of Tokyo, Japan, and Charles (Mary) of Bentonvill­e; grandchild­ren, Matthew, Kerri, Charles, and a granddaugh­ter due in the spring, whom he so looked forward to meeting; sister, Donna Plemmons (Lynn) of Conway; nephews, Eric and Ryan Plemmons; uncle and aunts, Jim and Maxine Thompson and Inice Stephenson; and a host of cousins and other family and friends.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, November 29, 2021, at Moore’s Cabot Funeral Home (501) 843-5816. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at North Hills Baptist Church in Sherwood, with Brother James Ward officiatin­g. Burial will be 2:30 Tuesday at Center Grove Cemetery near Charlotte.
