JUDSONIA — James Wilson Lowery,

-

of Judsonia, Ark., gained his heavenly promotion December 2, 2021, at the age of 82. James “Jim” was born Feb 7, 1939, in St. Louis, Mo., to parents Albert B. and Leo Corinne (Green) Lowery and moved back to the Lowery farm in Judsonia with the family at the age of seven. Here he grew to love the farm life and all that it held. That life included an abundance of time on the Little Red River with his siblings and other friends from the community. He was a great student, and his pursuits of study included science, mathematics, nature, farming, gardening, history, and the Bible. He was also a natural teacher desiring to share with others the knowledge he himself had gained. Professionally he taught high school mathematics and retired after 32 years from Searcy Public Schools, and on the farm he raised beef cattle, table grapes, row crops, and always a good garden. He was a long time member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. James was preceded in death by his parents, Thelma Hardin of Houston, Texas, sister, Bill Lowery of Judsonia, brother, Donald Lowery of Searcy, brother, Dr. Ben Lowery of Judsonia, brother, Eva Mae Lowery of Judsonia, sister.
