Lila Maxine Jeffcoat, 84, of Pine Bluff, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the Green House Cottages in Rison. Born in the Providence community of Jefferson County on August 7, 1937, the daughter of Arthur Bryan Jeffcoat and Alva Crossett Jeffcoat, she graduated from Watson Chapel High School. She owned and ran the Jeffcoat Grocery Store for many years and also had a floral shop. She was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church and the Keeper Of The Keys Sunday School class. She was also a member of United Commercial Travelers since 1988.

In addition to her parents, she was predecease­d by her brother, James Claibourne Jeffcoat in 2003; a sister, Sarah Bell Jeffcoat in 2018; and the love of her life and best friend, C.R. “Sonny” Spharler, Jr., in 2013.

Survivors include a nephew, Michael Jeffcoat (Elaine) of Godley, Texas; two nieces, Anita Jeffcoat Walters (Dan) of Redfield, and Linda Jeffcoat Owens of Pine Bluff; four great-nephews, Aaron Walters (Rebecca), Matthew Walters, Drew Jeffcoat (Erica) and Ryan Jeffcoat (Brittney); two greatniece­s, Tara Walters (Charles) and Kaley Emery (Shaun); seven great-great-nephews; four great-great-nieces; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m., Sunday, December 12, 2021, at Salem Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Howard Loetscher officiatin­g. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery in Jefferson County by Fuller Funeral Service. Visitation will be 1:30-2:30 p.m., at the church.
