of Little Rock, Ark., passed away of natural causes on December 17, 2021, at the age of 89.

Mrs. Singley was born Betty Lou Krenning on February 2, 1932, in Worland, Colo., to Mr. and Mrs. Carl Krenning. Mrs. Singley was raised on the family’s ranch outside of Cody with her 18 siblings, where she developed a life-long passion for gardening. Mrs. Singley married her late-husband, Billy “Bill” Singley, in Wyoming in 1949. Shortly after their nuptials, the couple moved to Arkansas where they would reside for the rest of their lives and raise their family of six children. In addition to her children, Mrs. Singley was blessed with 14 grandchild­ren and 13 great-grandchild­ren. Mrs. Singley spent 25 years managing food-service operations for both the Pulaski County School System and the Baptist Health System. In retirement, Mrs. Singley enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, and reading at Harris Brake Lake near Perryville, Ark., before returning to Little Rock after Mr. Singley passed away. Mrs. Singley volunteere­d for many years at Perryville Public Library and the Head Start Program where she read to young children.

Those who knew Mrs. Singley note that she was a passionate gardener, culinary expert, and voracious reader. Mrs. Singley deeply loved her family and friends, and will be remembered for her compassion­ate nature, joyful personalit­y, sense of humor, and quick wit.

Mrs. Singley was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Amelia “Millie” Krenning, husband, Bill Singley, daughter, Carol Muncy, son-in-law, Mark Guffin, and great-grandson, Jordan Broderick. Mrs. Singley is survived by her son, Bill Singley, Jr. and his wife, Lynn, of Mequon, Wisc.; son, Mark Singley and his wife, Beth, of Cleveland, Ark.; daughter, Kathy Doss and her husband, Ronnie, of Little Rock; son, Bruce Singley and his wife, Linda, of Little Rock; and daughter, Jackie Guffin, of Little Rock. In addition to her children, Mrs. Singley is survived by grandchild­ren, Nicholas Singley, Ashley Singley, Melissa Cullen (Chris Cullen), Dawn Broderick, Mark Singley, Racheal Singley (Alex Buriak), Molly Finders (Bob Finders), Andi Doss, Fawn Borden (Jerry Borden), Karla Doss, Sierra Singley, Chris Singley (Kaitlyn Singley), Mark Guffin (Margaret Guffin), Blaine Guffin and 13 great-grandchild­ren.

The service celebratin­g Mrs. Singley’s life will be an intimate affair on January 3, 2022, with immediate family due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
