-

Mrs. Erica Nicole Williams was born at DeWitt Hospital to Pia Woods and Lawrence Owens. She attended school at Southside Elementary School through the second grade. Erica completed her early education in the Pine Bluff School District, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 2002. She received her BA in Communications and a M.Ed. in Human Resource & Workforce Development from the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville.

Erica worked as the lead 4-H Agent for the Pulaski County Extension Service for 15 years. She joined Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated in 2005, an initiate of the Lambda Theta chapter. Erica was an active member of the Arkansas Association of Extension 4-H Agents, serving for many years as the chair of the Member Services Committee. She was recently presented the Distinguished Service Award by the National Association of 4-H Youth Development Professionals.

Throughout her walk with Christ, Erica served at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church as an usher. While an undergraduate at the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, Erica joined Saint James Missionary Baptist Church. Once she graduated and moved to Little Rock, she joined Second Baptist Church, where she worked with the technology and youth departments. Once married, Erica became a partner at Fellowship of Champions Church International, in Fayetteville. There she diligently served the ministry and pastors Edwin & Shun Strickland. As this list indicates, Erica loved God, remained steadfast, and served faithfully at kingdom building.

Erica leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Kevan Shaun Williams; and daughter, Faith Nicole Williams. She is survived by her parents, Roderick and Pia Woods (Pine Bluff), and Lawrence and Sonya Owens (Sherwood); grandparents, Aller and Leroy Duncan (Little Rock); brothers, Joshua (Tasha) Harris (Alexander) and Dylan Owens (Dallas, Texas); sisters, Ariana (Sadonta) Cole (Rogers), Robbyn Turner (Dallas, Texas), Devean Owens-Toler (Sachse, Texas), and Nakiya Owens (Sherwood); brother-in-law, Kim (Nicole) Williams (Little Rock). She will be fondly remembered by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Through her 12-year battle with breast cancer, Erica was an advocate for breast cancer awareness and research, sharing her testimony, positive attitude, and sweet spirit with many. She always ended with Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.”

May this passage of scripture and your memories of Erica continue to bless and comfort each of you.
