MARIANNA — Richard O. Brady,

of Marianna, died Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Richard was born on September 27, 1932, to Millia Avery and Mary Lucile Mattingly Brady in Marianna, Ark. He joined the U. S. Navy in 1951, and shortly thereafter, married the love of his life, Gloria Louise Nicholas. While in the Navy, he moved his family to Hawaii for two years, where they made life long family friends. After his service, they returned home to Marianna. Richard found his life’s calling as a Master Electricia­n and together, they started Brady Electric, which they ran for 25 years. Richard and Gloria eventually opened Tri County Supply in West Helena, where they spent 28 wonderful years working side by side at their dream jobs.

He is survived by two sons: Richard D. Brady, William H. Brady; two daughters: Barbara Robinson (Charles), and Linda Jansonius (Neal); four grandchild­ren: Clay Brady (Heather), John Brady, Brian Brady, and Erin Jansonius; and six great-grandchild­ren: Preston Brady, Jacob Thompson, Zac Thompson, McKayla Brady, Ava Brady, and Sophia Brady.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria, six short months ago, after 69 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his parents and his brothers, Joseph Brady and William Brady; and his sister, Irene Brady. The family would like to say a special thank you to Patients Choice Hospice and special care givers, Misty Strange, Lindsey Martin, Star Wages, and JoAnna Burns. These sweet ladies are so much a part of our family now. Graveside services will be held at Marianna Memorial Park in Marianna on Monday, January 3, 2022, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Moro Baptist Church, 1383 AR 238, Moro, Ark., 72368, or a charity of your choice.
