83, of Little Rock left us to spend eternity in Heaven on January 4, 2022.

He was born April 26, 1938, in Parkin, Ark., to Sallie Beulah Thurman and Rev. John Robert Pruitt.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 61 years, Sandra Dickinson Pruitt. He is survived by his son, David Pruitt (Debbie) of Austin, Texas, along with their four children, David, Jr. (Claire), Parker (Storm), Clayton, and Catherine; his daughter, Laura Joseph (Brad) of Little Rock, Ark. He is also survived by one sister, Pearlene Kitts; and one brother, Hulon Pruitt; along with many cousins; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents; brothers, Arlis, Dennis, Horace Pruitt; and one sister, Geraldine Howanietz.

Hollis graduated from Beebe High School and attended Arkansas State. He served six years in the 431st Civil Affairs Company of the U.S. Army Reserves, including six months of active duty and honorably discharged.

In Little Rock, Hollis enjoyed a career in banking, working for both Union National Bank and Commercial National Bank. It was through his career that both he and Sandra made many lifelong friends. Rarely did Hollis meet someone that he did not “know” or was not “related” to. He loved nothing more than to tell a great story and spend time with his family and friends. He was a member of Temple B’nai Israel for over 60 years.

A private service and burial at Oakland Cemetery are planned for family members. Memorial donations may be made to the Congregation B’nai Israel Cemetery Fund. Service arrangements by RuebelFuneralHome.com
