Faye Rhett Mitchell Jones, 86, of Glenwood, formerly of Pine Bluff, was a witty woman with a rebel’s heart who lived life on her terms and loved her family and close friends dearly. She passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 5, 2022 surrounded by her loving family.

Faye was born July 18, 1935 in Rye, daughter of Robert Rhett Ashcraft and Della West Ashcraft. She was reared and received her early education in Woodlawn and Warren.

Faye worked as a cashier and stocker for Safeway and Harvest Foods for 32 years. She was a long-time member of Greenlee Baptist Church in Pine Bluff. Even after moving to Glenwood to be closer to family in 1997, she retained her membership at Greenlee.

Faye did not miss an opportunit­y to drop a line in the water; fishing was her most favorite hobby. Cooking with her family and friends was how Faye showed her love and she could be counted on to have a feast ready, even when a crowd dropped in last minute. An avid gardener, Faye collected cuttings from family and friends and enjoyed touring folks through her garden, sharing stories of the people and places from where they came.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Bob Mitchell; brothers, Curtis Ashcraft, Troyce Ashcraft, Mitchell Ashcraft, and Dale Ashcraft; and sister, Edith Ashcraft.

Survivors include her husband, Franklin Keith Jones of Warren; children, Thomas Mitchell (Melissa) of Pigeon Roost, Ark., Timothy Mitchell (Carrie Kessler) of Roland, Ark., Scott Mitchell (Teresa) of Hensley, Ark., Marla Harvey (Larry) of Glenwood, Ark., Ashley Mitchell (Ahmad Nourzad) of Atlanta, Ga., and Brandyn Morrow (Joshua Morrow) of Lamar, Ar.; stepson, Jay Jones of Pine Bluff; sisters, Wilma Gene Adams of Coos Bay, Ore., and Agnes McClain of Rison, Ark.; grandchild­ren, Jennifer Watkins, Jeremy Mitchell, Alicia Boyd, Kelsey Minchew, Tara Mitchell, Kyle Harvey, Paige Ellington. and Jace Morrow; 10 great-grandchild­ren; and special friends, Carolyn Hopkins and JoAnn Bussey of Pine Bluff, Ark., James and Norma Smith of Crystal Springs, Ark., James and Donna Johnson of Houston, Ark., and Herschel and Velta Pittman of Amity, Ark.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, January 10, 2022, at Greenlee Baptist Church in Pine Bluff with Brother James Watson and Hurley Ashcraft officiatin­g. A musical tribute will be shared by Coyce Ashcraft. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery in Rye by Ralph Robinson and Son Funeral Directors. Visitation will be Monday from noon until service time at Greenlee Baptist Church.
