BRYANT — Truman Dwayne Arrington,

of Bryant, passed away on Jan 4, 2022 at the age of 72.

He was born on September 15, 1949, to Truman and Alta Bright Arrington and grew up in Hope, Ark. He was one of six children.

He served his country as a United States Marine and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery and bloodshed in Vietnam. After his military service, he worked as a plumber and mechanical contractor. He was well respected in the industry for his knowledge and expertise.

Dwayne was married to his high school sweetheart, Rachel Batson Arrington, for 40 years. Together, they shared four children, Andress (Allen) Scott of Bryant, Ed Arrington of North Little Rock, Nansi Roe of Bryant, and Rayne (Brandon) Hurley of Baton Rouge, La. He was very proud of his grandchild­ren, Abigail and Adam Whaley, Mallory (Cameron) Furton, Ethan Rorie, Dade Arrington, and Ellis Truman, Sloan, and Dixon Hurley. He had one great-grandson, Jay Bennett Furton. He is also survived by his two remaining siblings, Linda (David) Norvell of Maryland, and Lorena (Don) Plunkett of Grapevine; and many nieces and nephews. He was a Master Mason of the Grand Lodge of Arkansas, F.&A.M., and of Scottish Rite of Freemasonr­y 32nd degree.

Dwayne was a unique man with many distinct qualities. He had an extensive vocabulary (he didn’t always pronounce the words correctly, but neverthele­ss, he knew them), and he was a talented writer of poems and sonnets, talented cook, bad joke teller, wiz at Amazon Prime, and he could fix or build or figure out just about anything! He was a man with a huge heart who sincerely loved his friends and family above all else. Dwayne was always courteous to everyone he ever met, regardless of who they were or what they did, and he always tried to help out those in need. He was one of one He will be interred at the Veteran’s Field at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Bryant, Ark., on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 10 a.m., following the memorial service, with the Reverend Susan Ledbetter of Bryant First United Methodist Church officiatin­g.
