of Sherwood passed from this life on January 14, 2022, at the age of 51. He was born October 10, 1970, in Hope, Ark. to Gene and Cathy (Lites) Shoemaker. Mr. Shoemaker was a retired Sergeant with North Little Rock Police Department. He would occasional­ly play golf, but his true passion was in his calling as a police officer. His father, Gene Shoemaker Jr., maternal grandparen­ts, Otho and Juanita Lites, and paternal grandparen­ts, Gene and Lucille Shoemaker, preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Jamie Watson Shoemaker of North Little Rock; children, Hannah, and Grant Shoemaker both of North Little Rock; mother, Cathy Shoemaker; and sister, Genea Neel both of Hope; nephew, Trevor Almand of Hope; and niece, Sarah (Grant) Thornton of Prairie Grove, Ark. Other survivors include a host of extended family and friends.

Patrick began his career with North Little Rock Police Department in October 1994. He worked in the patrol and training divisions. He served on the SWAT team , as first a member, and then Commander from 20002014. He retired from the department in October 2021.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2022, at Smith North Little Rock Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Graveside services will follow at Washington Cemetery in Washington, Ark. at 2:30 p.m.
