died peacefully Monday at her home in West Little Rock, Ark.

She was 98.

Daughter of the late Wallace and Myrle Harris, Margaret was born in Batesville, where she graduated from high school and attended what came to be Lyon College. She was employed by Southweste­rn Bell in Batesville and later in Little Rock, where the family moved in 1943.

In 1947 she married Americo DiCocco, a first-generation Italian-American serving in the U. S. Army at Camp Robinson, North Little Rock, and moved to his hometown of Schenectad­y, N.Y.

The DiCoccos had three sons: John, now of Plymouth, Mass, Thomas of Schenectad­y, and James of Los Angeles. They took overlappin­g turns as her caregivers in the last year of her life.

Margaret took great joy in raising her sons but also worked at Casual Male Men’s Clothing Store and AT&T during her career.

Margaret returned to Little Rock after the premature death of her husband and made it her home again for her last 30 years, visited often by her sons. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and its Bowen-Cabe Sunday School Class.

Margaret had a wide circle of friends, many of whom preceded her in death.

Survivors are her sons, three grandchild­ren and their spouses (Jenna Beth and Simon Lowe DiCocco of Falmouth Harbor, Antigua, Shay and Alicia DiCocco of Richmond, Vt., and Casey DiCocco and Joey DeRosa of Cambridge, Mass.); and three great-grandchild­ren (Lane and Hugh DiCocco and Zia Rose Lowe DiCocco); and a sister, Mary Sue Lewis and her husband Bill Lewis of Little Rock.
