DANNY LEE EASLEY,

age 78, passed away February 8, 2022, in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, to William A Easley and Mary Hite.

He was a man of strong character and possessed a positive ”can-do” attitude his entire life. In high school he was All-American in Football and received an athletic scholarshi­p to Arkansas State University for Basketball. He was also a Golden Glove boxer. He enlisted in the Marines in 1961 and fought in Vietnam. Upon returning to the U.S. in 1965, he had a brief career with the Oakland Raiders as a tight end but unfortunat­ely suffered a knee injury during his first off season game. He returned to Arkansas and worked as a lineman for West Memphis Utilities where he met and married the love of his life. He went on to earn his BS in Accounting at ASU and later his MA in Internatio­nal Business from Webster University. He had an illustriou­s career in Finance enabling him and his wife to live in the Philippine­s, Mexico, England and Slovakia.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Jeanne McBride Easley. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Jeanne Mokry, (Gary) of Parker, Texas, his son, William Marc Rios (Tracy) of Little Rock, his grandson, Trey Pipkins of Jonesboro and granddaugh­ter, Gabrielle Arora (Vivek) of Dallas, Texas. He also leaves behind three great-grandsons: Jackson, Oliver, and John Oscar Pipkins and one great-granddaugh­ter, Zoe Arora, all of whom adored their “Mamps”. He is also survived by his brother, George Easley (Marty) of Portsmouth, Rhode Island, sisters, Cynthia Lutz (Tom) of Little Rock, Janet Hiett (Robert) Lubbock, Texas, and brother, David Hite (Susan) of Hot Springs and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Friday, February 11, 2022, in the chapel of Roller Chenal Funeral Home with a Rosary starting at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will follow 11 a.m., Saturday, February 12, at the Cathedral of St. Andrew, 617 Louisiana Street, with burial at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion at 3 p.m. Please share your memories of Danny at: www.rollerfune­ralhomes.com/chenal
