SHERIDAN — Nelly Louise Rogers,

75, of Sheridan, formerly of Danville, passed away, Thursday, February 3, 2022, at her home. The daughter of James and Irene Adamson Whitlow, she was born August 14, 1946, in Plainview. She was a retired Registered Nurse with St. Vincent Infirmary. Nelly will be remembered as a hero, making sacrifices as a military wife and mother. Nellie was a devoted wife for 53 years, loving mother, grandmothe­r to her grandchild­ren, and sister. She enjoyed gardening as a master gardener, sewing, cooking and canning, hunting, spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Rogers her parents; two brothers, David Whitlow; Don Whitlow, two sisters, Betty Jean Muck; Lura Estelle Davis. Nelly is survived by two sons, James Rogers (Clarice) of Sheridan; Travis Rogers (Stefanie) of Rogers; three grandchild­ren, Peyton and Isabella Rogers of Rogers; Pio Rogers of Sheridan; three step- grandchild­ren, Clarissa Hegg; Andrew Hegg; Trevor Karther; two step-great-grandchild­ren, Caleb and Pauly Hegg; a sister, Reda K McConell; a brother, James David Whitlow and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Humphrey Chapel. Rev. W.A. Gorman will officiate. A private committal service will be held at the new Chapel of Light at the J. Herman Humphrey Dignity Cremation Center by Humphrey Funeral Service.
